Hemp Seed Oil as a Wood Finish
Natural Wood Finishing Oil to Nourish & Protect
Use hemp oil to revive old wood finishes. Mother Nature always knows best. And since hemp seed oil is a drying oil, for leather goods, we suggest you use our beeswax hemp polish.
Directions:
Apply hemp oil with a clean cloth. Let the oil penetrate for 15 minutes or so, wipe off any excess oil and then buff the surface with a clean cloth. Apply one to three coats, allowing two hours between coats. Reapply as required, several layers of hemp oil may need to be applied to achieve the desired finish.
Decking Directions:
For average wood conditions we recommend 3 coats – 2 x using hemp seed oil mixed 50/50 with turpentine, plus 1 x full strength hemp seed oil. However, the more deteriorated the wood is, the more applications will be required. The addition of turpentine acts as a carrier to ensure the hemp seed oil penetrates deeply in to the wood.
• Apply 2 coats of hemp seed oil/turpentine 50/50 mix allowing 2 hours to dry between each coat. Before applying, ensure the hemp seed oil and turpentine are stirred well and evenly mixed. Increase to 3 coats if required.
• Allow 48 hours to dry before applying 100% hemp seed wood oil. Increase to 2 full-strength coats if required allowing 48 hours between each coat.
